Most of the French main trade unions called a new day of nationwide protest against the pension reform for Nov 23.

The unions called the new day of demonstration to protest the reform adopted by the parliament on Oct. 27. President N. Sarkozy, refused to back down on his flagship reform despite a series of eight days of mass protests and strikes since September, thus causing fuel shortage, transport problem and sporadic violence. The reform will rise the minimum and fully pensionable retirement ages by two years, to 62 and 67 respectively. Before Sarkozy can sign the reform into law, it is waiting for the clearance from the Constitutional clearance on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is expected to be a hitch-free one!

Therefore, more trouble is likely for France Tourism, expect transport problem especially. Before your departure check the situation with your airline or ferry company.
