From May 13^th to 15^th 2011 the ISPS Handa Portugal Ladies Open took place at the Campo Real Golf. The 18-hole course (6009m, par 72), designed by Donald Steel in 2005, is challenging with the first nine holes being tough. Overall, the course meanders the naturally hilly terrain and features dramatic slopes and wooded valleys. Euro Prize fund: €200,000.

Another LET competition, another great result for our star, Rachel Jennings, who competes under the sponsorship of Golf in France. She finished 8^th with a score 211, par -5 (R1: 68, R2: 70, R3: 73).

Golf in France: Congratulations Rachel! What are your impressions, looking back on the event?

Rachel: I managed to achieve my first top 10 on the Ladies European Tour in a strong field that included Laura Davies and Sophie Gustafson. I really enjoyed the week. Having of my good friends caddying for me, made the event even more enjoyable.

As per usual, I left a few shots out there but that’s mainly to do with the start of the season nerves! I hit the ball well all week and my putting in general was great.

GIF: So, what’s next?

R: This week I am in Munich for the Audi Ladies German Open. I am really excited about this event as I have never played in Germany before and it will be a new experience for me.
